Rawlins, Wyoming

I'm in Rawlins, Wyoming tonight. Dove up today to be in position for tomorrows assignment.

We had several opportunities to stop along the way to do some shooting for ourselves. This is just one of the many shots I took with my G9. I also brought along my converted D70 to IR camera, got some pretty cool shots. More tomorrow. DT

Yoder's Forever

The best damn peanut butter cream pie in the world! I always look forward to going to Yoder's when visiting Sarasota, FL, just look at these pie's. They serve other fine food but it's the pie that keeps me coming back.

Earlier in the day we went to Myakka State Park, it's Florida's oldest and largest state park. The park is about a 1/2 hour just east of Sarasota. At the park, they have a canopy walkway and tower on a nature trail. You climb a short 35' tower, cross a suspension bridge and than up the taller tower to a height of 74'. From the tall tower you have a wonderful view of the park and a close view of all the vegetation.
Here are some of the photos I took today in the park. We'll be fishing later tonight. DT

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This

Sunset on Lido Beach tonight. I just love walking the beach looking for sand dollars and other beautiful shells. My feet are sore and I'm pooped. Here are a few more pic's shot with my G9.

More tomorrow for sure!

Gone Fishing

We're in Sarasota, FL. It's great being on vacation! We bought some fishing poles at Kmart, rather than renting for the week, much cheaper in the long run.

Debbie was the big winner, she caught 5 of the eight, I got 2 and Chris 1. What a great day. Here's Chris on the bridge fishing, the new Ringling bridge in the background.

Below is the new Ringling bridge below. This bridge replaces an older draw bridge that was in place for years.

We also managed to provide a fish for a local bird waiting for a kind soul, I'm such a sucker. I'm having fun!

Image of the Day - 4/22/08

This photo was taken late last year on a trip to the Winchester Mystery House in N. California. I love the play of light streaming down the wall from a skylight above the hallway. Canon G9 once again.

Image of the Day - 4/21/08

I'm sitting here in front of my computer editing images and thought I'd post one from my archives.

This photo was taken at the Whaley House in San Diego, CA. I was there on vacation with my family and some friends earlier this year. I shot this image with my Canon G9.

The Whaley House is a classic example of mid nineteenth century Greek Revival architecture.

Cruising

Regular readers of this blog know that I bought a Canon G9 several months ago. I just love this camera, not only can I shoot video, It makes beautiful 12.1 mega pixel RAW files. I am just blown away by the quality of the images this little camera produces.

This past week I was on vacation in California, my family and some friends took a 3 day cruise from Los Angeles to Ensenada, MX, and we also spent an additional two days in San Diego and at my late father's home of Newport Beach. On this vacation, I took only the G9 to photograph with.

I thought this quick post will allow me some additional time to work on some more meaningful post about actual assignments I've been shooting. Anyway, thought you might enjoy seeing some of the images from this wonderful camera.
